Entry 11- PROCRASTINATION

A WhatsApp message made me come back to this blog!

I have had different ideas on what to post for so long but never came around to actually typing it out & going on to post it. I procrastinated so much; but 8 long months later, I am finally back- God is good!

As a Christian, I could give you a million reasons why I neglected my narratives; they would include, anxiety, depression, fear... the list is endless but if I'm being honest, I was just being lazy.

I always said to myself "Tomorrow! Tomorrow..." & tomorrow has finally come!

What does the Bible say about procrastination though?

When we continually procrastinate and put things off, we are definitely not honoring the gift of time God has gifted us with. How we live, is a direct reflection of the kingdom, if we live like the unwise, we become foolish. Read Ephesians 5:15-17 for more information. My very short version but you get the picture don't you?

As Christians, our realm is not of this world but rather of God. We are his representatives here on earth and our lifestyle must be Christ-like. You and I both know He was far from someone who procrastinated. He did things in its time and they were always beautiful.

If it wasn't for the fact that I was intentional about my procrastinating, I would've said with my chest that maybe, just maybe, this was supposed to be done in this time. Let me not milk the situation LOL.

We should not allow the hustle and bustle of our everyday lives to distract us from doing Gods work here on earth. We are His vessels and must continue to share His goodness: This can be talking to that stranger you meet in traffic all the time. This can be talking the a new colleague, the new church member, anyone really. This can be changing your attitude or reaction to a certain situation. This can be attending mid-week prayer meetings. This can be updating your Christian blog on a daily or weekly basis. Think about it.

I pray as you are reading this that you are moved to commit your life to God. Father, to the person reading this, I pray that you help them avoid all distractions that keep them from doing your work here on earth. For all the times they may have procrastinated and cost them winning souls for your kingdom here on earth, may You forgive them. Help them to manage their time and resources and always make time for You.

Amen
